Hi me again, gave incorr flight time-Our plane is scheduled to arrive@440pm@SFB.Our plan is to eat@Backlot 1st- then catch the Fantasmic show@Hollywood Studios@9pm. . Any suggestions on where to sit or are we still cutting it to close?

    Paulette,

You have a much better chance of making Fantasmic, since you'll be arriving an hour earlier.  If you are renting a car be sure to have a map and directions ready so you won't waste time navigating from the airport to your resort.

When you arrive at Hollywood Studios, you'll find that the restaurant you've chosen and the theater where Fantasmic is performed are on opposite ends of the park.  If you're pressed for time, consider splitting up.  Some of your group could go to the show and secure seating, and others could go and pick up food.  You are allowed to eat in the theater so this would not be a problem.  You can also buy food from concession stands in the rear of the theater, if there's no time to make a food run.

Fantasmic begins seating about 2 hours before the show begins, and especially during busy times it does fill up.  If there are two showings while you are visiting opt for the later show - it's less crowded.  This is a very popular show so I do recommend being there early.

As for where to sit, you likely will not have any choice in the matter.  Cast members are there to direct traffic, and you will be show to your seats rather than being allowed to select your own.  Like the ride boarding areas, Disney has this down to a science and they are a very efficient, well-oiled machine.  They are able to seat thousands of guests very quickly.  There are not any bad seats in the house.  Special effects are done in several sections so that everyone gets a good view, and you really can see, no matter where you are sitting.  We've even watched from standing-room-only and the view was fine.  My only caution would be against sitting too close, as you can 'feel' some of the effects a bit more than I'd really like.  I can't say more than that or I'd give something away!

    Have a great vacation!
