Hi again! my family of 5 are heading to Disney world the week of New Year's eve. My boys are both 14 yrs and my daughter will almost be 12 when we get there. My family loves waterparks, should we attempt Blizzard Beach in early January?

Hi, Jessica!  My family and I used to live in Orlando, and my very first holiday season there, we just about froze our tushes off!  We thought we were still in Jersey, the weather was so cold!  Other years, however, we were swimming and visiting water parks all through the holidays and into January.

I find that many people still love going to the water parks, even if the temperatures are a bit cooler out.  You may be lucky, and in January experience an 80 degree day, but plan for the weather to be in the mid-70s.  The water will be warm enough, so it's really up to your family if they want to deal with the air temperatures.

I'd say put it on the itinerary, and if the day turns out to be blustery, you can switch to DisneyQuest or a theme park for the day.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you have great weather!
