Hi Again. Is there anything special planned for Mardi Gras during the week of Feb 22, 2009. This panel has been a huge help in planning our first visit. Thank you, Theresa

    Hi Theresa,

Great question! I can honestly say I have never been at Disney World for Fat Tuesday or the Mardi Gras celebration. Previously Please Island at Downtown Disney would feature some Mardi Gras events during the late evening hours on select dates. Unfortunately, Pleasure Island is now closed for remodeling and there are no additional locations that I can find that offer Mardi Gras events.

One suggestion is to visit and spend some time at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. This moderate level resort is designed around the charm of New Orleans and has a touch of Mardi Gras flair in its decor and dining location. The other thing you could do is make your own celebration. After all Disney's theme this year is What Will You Celebrate so celebrate Mardi Gras. Travel the World at Epcot or enjoy a beverage at Raglan Road or a stoll along Port Orleans walkway. Whatever you choose, do it with color and style and it will be your touch of New Orleans Mardi Gras in Disney. Have a great time!
