What is your advice for a 9:10 reservation (dessert??) at California Grill after Chef Mickey at 6:45pm if we wanted to have optimal viewing for fireworks? Are we allowed to share dessert here?

Hi Lindsey, Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is truly a magical site to see and Disney's Contemporary Resort is a wonderful place to observe it.
I am not sure when you are visiting but double check the time for Wishes Nighttime Spectacular for the evening you are dining at Chef Mickey's.
You, of course, can make an Advance Dining Reservation at California Grill and enjoy a dessert or two to share before observing the fireworks on their observation deck, which is only available to guest who have dined that evening with them.
However, do know you have a couple of other options.  Disney's Contemporary Resort's 4th floor balcony, which is on the same floor as Chef Mickey's, is a perfect location as well and yet open to anyone who would like to watch. Or consider taking a quick ride over to Disney's Polynesian Resort and observing from the beaches of this tropical getaway if you would like a change of scenery.
It truly is up to you and where you would like to watch this Magical display of fireworks and all locations will make it a sight to remember.
I hope your stay is filled with many memorable and magical memories and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I am a Dreamer who has always believed dreams are meant to be the path to your future. Walt Disney, I believe, felt the same way, "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Disney has always been proof that endless imagination and the passion to make them come to fruition is possible. I will never be to old for Disney, it is home to all of us Dreamers.
