At the advice of a cast member I purchased tickets (thru disney) separately from my onsite hotel reservation to save money. However, I am now not able to add a dining plan since not a package. Is there a way I can and maintain my discounts?

Hi, Melissa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your question. I like to add one of the Disney Dining Plans to our Walt Disney World Resort visits because it makes meal time so easy! When we get hungry, we just stop by our favorite Quick Service dining location and grab a bite to eat. If we want to enjoy a great meal in air-conditioned comfort and relax, I make dining reservations at our favorite Table Service dining locations. My favorite Disney Dining Plan moment is when we figure out we have extra snack entitlements that need to be used ... Dole Whip Floats for everyone!

A Walt Disney World Resort room-only reservation can be modified to become a ticketless Disney Resort Hotel Package with included Disney Dining Plan. To do so without including tickets, you will need to call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone line and speak with a Cast Member about making the change. There is currently not a way to make this type of change online.

One thing to consider when making this change is that you may lose any Special Offer you may have applied to book your room-only reservation. If you booked your room with a percent-off type of Special Offer, then you may have to pay full rate for the room, depending on availability and if the offer is still active. My best advice is to call the phone line I linked above and check to see what your options are based on the type of reservation you have. You will have to do your "Mickey math" and see if adding a Disney Dining Plan will make your plans practically perfect in every way.

Thanks for stopping by to chat and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your upcoming visit!
