Any advice on bringing 30 month old to Disney?we've been many times, went last June with my 7rd old but left the baby with my aunt, next trip is OCT 2010, My then 30 mth old will be joining us, anyone have advice, nervous he is still too young to enjoy??

    Tonya,

Disney is magical at any age, and your 2 1/2 year old is definitely not too young to enjoy!  I've been taking my girls since they were newborns and we have always had a great trip.  It is definitely workable with little ones, and there is no better, more accommodating vacation spot to visit with little ones.

First, consider your child's temperament and flexibility; will you need to be on a schedule, or can he go with the flow?  If he isn't flexible, then don't try to force it at Disney or you will all be miserable.  Plan your meals and park visits around his normal nap times to make the trip easier for everyone.

As for dining, I highly recommend lots of character meals!  They are a great way to keep little ones entertained while you eat, and the sit-down meal is a nice break in the day.  As my fellow panelist Beth says, it's an opportunity to take a 'temperature check' and see how everyone is feeling and how the rest of the day should go.

I also recommend hitting your local dollar store before you leave and picking up lots of small, quiet, portable entertainment.  Bottles of bubble stuff are great for ride lines, and silly putty, crayons, small figures, and other novelties are good for waiting in restaurants.

    Have a great vacation!
