    Can you take advantage of free dining if you are a DVC member staying on points?

    Hi, Clarissa!  When Walt Disney World offers the free dining promotion, the guest must purchase a package that includes a hotel stay.  Because you would be staying on Disney Vacation Club points and not purchasing a package with the hotel included, you are not eligible for the free dining plan.

    Many of my friends who are DVC owners take advantage of the free dining by booking an inexpensive room, like at a Value or moderate resort, and banking their DVC points to use the following year on a longer stay, or putting the points towards a cruise or an RCI exchange.  My own family would probably just use the points and come back again to Walt Disney World another time when there wasn't a free dining promotion!
