Hey there, Lara!
We're glad to see you back at planDisney ahead of your upcoming vacation. I visited with my own teenager just last weekend, and we had the absolute best time together at EPCOT. We also prioritized
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, riding first via
Lightning Lane Single Pass and again at the end of the night via the standby queue. Thankfully, our mission was a success both times, and we enjoyed two different songs during our adventures.
All guests who plan to experience Cosmic Rewind via the Lightning Lane entrance should purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass. In your case, you'd purchase one for each adult and the teen who plans to ride. If you're staying at an
eligible resort, you're likely already within your purchase window (7 days before check-in date), but if not, your window will open 3 days before your ticket start date.
Rider Switch is available on this attraction, though it's typically reserved for guests who do not meet the height requirement or who cannot wait outside the queue alone. The preshows and boarding process can take a bit of time (even with Lightning Lane access), and I wouldn't want to leave my younger teen alone too long either, so I can understand your concern. I recommend speaking to a Cast Member at the entrance when you arrive for specific instructions for your party. I'm sure they'll offer a perfectly magical solution for your group.
If you decide to ride again using the standby queue, your non-riding teen can go through the regular line with you. Just let a Cast Member know they won't be riding once it's time to board, and they should be directed where to wait. This way, you can stay together as long as possible while you prepare to save the galaxy. My daughter does this anytime we ride
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios and heads to the exit while we scream our heads off on the ride.
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full bloom, so be sure to save time to eat and drink your way around World Showcase during your visit. I loved the Garden Vegetable Flatbread from Trowel & Trellis and the Captain's Board and Limoncello-Basil Sparkling Cocktail from Yacht Grub, but you'll find details on the entire colorful feast in this
Disney Eats Foodie Guide.
Lara, I hope this helps you get ready for a magical visit! If we can answer any additional questions as you tick off the final days on your countdown, please come back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
