Hello, Kathleen! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
There is no better place to accommodate dietary restrictions. Other than Disney, I have never been to a place where the chef himself walks over to you to patiently discuss a customer's needs. Cast Members at the Walt Disney World resort will go above and beyond to meet a guest's expectations and the kitchen is no exception. Actually, this is one of the places where the brand's efficiency can put to the test and it will always excel! So, no worries you are in good hands!
Adults can certainly order from the children's menu. I have done it many times and they will not even ask you why or who the food is for (at quick service locations, for example). If there is something from the adult menu that you would like cooked a certain way, or have some ingredients removed, added or replaced, you can always discuss that with the Cast Member helping you. As I mentioned above, you can also discuss it directly with a special diets-trained Cast Member or the chef. The minute you mention the term dietary restriction, you will notice your server will give you their full attention, take notes on your requests, and will most likely get the chef to talk to you in person.
If you have an
advanced dining reservation, you can add a comment or note to it about your dietary requirements if making it online (you will see a box for that purpose on the
website or My Disney Experience app), or you can directly discuss it on the phone (407) 939-3463. If you would like to get more information you can visit the website or send an email to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com
I hope this helps answer your question. I wish your family a wonderful vacation!
Happy Disney Dining!
