Bright suns, Rebecca!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your question. It looks like your
Hollywood Studios day will be here faster than the Millennium Falcon completing the Kessel Run! So let’s hit the hyperdrive and get you ready to explore all the immersive worlds the park has to offer!
As big Star Wars fans, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you about all the amazing experiences inside
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can’t miss Rise of the Resistance and Smugglers’ Run, but I also have to recommend
Oga’s Cantina. Not only are the beverages out of this world (try the
Yub Nub or Corellian Spike Cold Brew), but you can groove to the tunes of former Star Tours pilot DJ R-3X. Oga’s is a popular spot so try to get a reservation as soon as possible or stop by the host stand to add your name to the standby list.
As for the rest of the park, my “must see” recommendations depend on what sort of attractions you usually enjoy. If you and your son like thrill rides then be sure to check out
Tower of Terror and
Slinky Dog Dash. Are shows more your speed? Then be sure to grab a seat for the
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular,
Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage, and
Muppet*Vision 3D. My favorite show at Hollywood Studios is
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, but not because I feel the need to belt out “Let It Go” (which I will do). It's a
very funny show and my family never misses it.
Since you only have one day at Hollywood Studios, I’d try to arrive as soon as it opens, which is 9:00am for the day you’ll be visiting (or 8:30am if you are staying at a resort). I would also suggest looking into purchasing
a Lighting Lane Multi-Pass or Lighting Lane Single Pass if you haven’t already. These passes allow you to skip the standby lines and will help you maximize your time at the park.
Rebecca, I can tell the Force is strong with you and your son, and that you’re in for a magical day at Hollywood Studios. Be sure to come back to planDisney if you have any other questions!
May the Force be with you (or “may the spires keep you” as the locals say on Batuu)!
Matt
