Hey there, hi there, Jennifer! Welcome to "Loser-Ville!"
I have also had gastric bypass surgery, so I know that planning for meals at
Walt Disney World can become a little more stressful. Even though my surgery was many years ago, there are still some things I struggle with when eating, so I am always carefully looking at menu options at the many incredible
dining experiences throughout Disney World.
First, I do want to tell you that if you explain your special dietary concerns to the server, there shouldn't be any problem ordering from the kids' menu at
Citricos. The only places you may have issues ordering a kids' meal will be at a buffet or family-style restaurants.
Second, check out the
regular menu at Citricos. Guests with
special dietary requests can meet with a member of the culinary team at any of the restaurants, and they can discuss with you how meals can be adapted or changed to work with your specific needs. They can provide smaller portions of adult menu items or substitute a denser, harder-to-eat protein for something lighter. They can change or eliminate sauces, and in some cases, they'll even make suggestions not on the regular menu that will work for you.
Jennifer, Walt Disney World is the last place you should have to feel embarrassed when you have special dietary concerns. They do an excellent job accommodating particular dietary needs, and they can help you formulate a fabulous food solution.
Have a magical, memorable vacation, Jennifer!
