Mindy,
That is a great question. Before that, however, I will tell you that I love Boma for the food. So you may want to still go. It is a great buffet, since it offers American classics (good for my pickier eaters) as well as some Indian and African-inspired dishes for me to try out.
But let's talk about alternatives. At the top of my recommendation list for you is;
Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge) - This is a GREAT venue for your boys. The servers are VERY entertaining, but in an appropriate way. It is fun, but it also serves great food in good portions. Make sure they ask for ketchup (trust me), and if you can get them there in a Universal Studios shirt you will have even more fun.
50s Prime Time Cafe (Hollywood Studios) - Another place that features servers that bring the fun, along with good food and good portions. No need for cues here, just let the boys enjoy the sassy ambiance and all will be good from there!
Biergarten (Epcot) - Don't worry, this is very family friendly. Only go at dinner, when the entertainment is performing, and your kids will get a G-rated view of a German beer hall with a great band and fun atmosphere.
Those are 3 recommendations based on my experience. Write me back and let me know what the boys like and I can make some more. Maybe sports-themed (ESPN Club), or something for the sweet tooth (Beach & Cream)?
Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
