Tara!
Hey, glad to hear from you again!
Unfortunately, Disney only allows you to leave your car parked at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for a limited amount of time when dining at one of their restaurants, like
'Ohana. I don't know if there is an official time limit, but certainly, it would likely be only for a few hours.
I also understand not wanting to move a bunch of times, especially on your first day of vacation! So here is my advice.
When you arrive, go straight to your home in the magic at
Disney's Contemporary Resort and park your car. Since it is your check-in day, you are certainly allowed to do that, even though your room will likely not be ready yet. Once parked, you can just hop on the monorail and enjoy your first magical glide around the Seven Seas Lagoon! After breakfast, while you could go back to the Contemporary, you certainly do not have to. No need to go check in or attend to anything. You can just head straight to your adventures in the Magic Kingdom.
BONUS TIP #1When you park at the Contemporary, would you prefer not to leave your bags in a hot parked car? Not a problem. The Bell Services desk is there, right by the front door. They can hold your bags for you, while you have breakfast and fun in the parks.
BONUS TIP #2You will want to use the
Online Check-In feature of your
My Disney Experience account before arriving. This will help ensure your account is set up properly for charging, among other things. They will even text you your room number when it is ready!
BONUS TIP #3For your breakfast at 'Ohana, ask if you can be put into the restaurant's main room. The other areas can be a bit dark in the morning, and you definitely want to get that great view out the window as the monorails glide by, and the boats sail over to the Magic Kingdom!
I imagine this might not be what you had in mind, but in the end, I think it will make your day much easier, since you won't have to go back and move your car, later in the day.
Have a Magical Vacation!Doug
