Have ADR at Akershus for dinner in Dec. Is it a buffet, family style brought to the table or do you order from a menu? Same for the kids meals? Thanks for all the great advice. Couldn't have planned our trip without all of you!

Hi, Tara!  Dinner at Akershus is a little bit of everything - really!

To start with, you will each make a menu selection for your entrees.  The adult menu includes such items as chicken breast, pork chop, and beef tips, all with a Norwegian flavor to them.  The children's menu offers kid friendly favorites like cheese ravioli, pizza and hot dogs.

After you've ordered your entree, you are welcome to go to the buffet (known as the koldtbord).  There you will find freshly sliced deli meats and fabulous cheeses, as well as a nice selection of salads and cold seafoods.  You may visit as many times as you wish.

Once your meal is completed, you will be served your dessert family style.  A platter of popular Norwegian selections will be brought to your table for everyone to share.  The desserts change, but usually include the delicious rice cream, some type of pastry, and often a chocolate mousse.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation, and enjoy a fabulous meal at Akershus!
