Hi Cheri, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I absolutely love the smaller resort vibes at
Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, and the easy access to beignets at
Scat Cat’s Club - Cafe doesn’t hurt either!
French Quarter has such a unique pool with an amazing sea serpent slide. So let’s get you all set for the best pool day ever! In my experience, there are plenty of chairs, though, like most Disney Resort hotel pools, empty chairs can be harder to find at peak times. The umbrellas are more limited with a few scattered throughout the lounge chairs. However, there are also several tables with umbrellas, which are perfect for having breakfast or lunch by the pool!
As a French Quarter guest, you can also head to
Port Orleans Resort - Riverside to use their pools as well. It’s about a 0.6-mile walk along the river or you can take the
boat that runs between the two resorts and
Disney Springs. I love the
Ol' Man Island pool at Riverside because it has lots of natural shade, depending on the time of day. The trees and other plants give it a really relaxing feel!
And while you’re at the Port Orleans Resorts, don’t miss the fun entertainment at both French Quarter and Riverside. Watching the jazz performers at
Scat Cat's Club - Lounge is always one of my must-dos, along with heading to
River Roost Lounge to sing along with
Yehaa Bob Jackson on the piano. These shows happen on select nights, so check their respective pages for the latest schedule.
I hope you have a magical stay at French Quarter! And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.
