Ahoy there, Wendy! Thank you for visiting us and allowing us to help with your question.
Disney Cruise Line offers the option to book a guarantee, which can be a great way to get a beautiful stateroom onboard one of the
Disney Cruise Line ships for a bit of a discount. When you book a stateroom this way, you are guaranteed to have a stateroom in the category you chose - or perhaps a little better - but you don't get to choose your own room.
This is where adding someone to the reservation may get a bit tricky. Depending on how many guests are in your party already and the
stateroom category you've booked as a guarantee, you'll have to make sure you'll be able to add an extra guest. Because your sailing is still a few months away, you probably haven't been assigned a stateroom yet. This works out in your favor. You can reach out to Disney Cruise Line via
phone or email and ask them to modify your reservation to include your son. By doing that, when they assign your room, they will assign one that can accommodate your additional person.
Most of the staterooms can accommodate 3-4 people, with some even being able to accommodate up to 5, so as long as there is space on the ship and in your room, you should be able to modify your reservation. I'll keep my fingers crossed and send you some virtual pixie dust!
I'm glad your son can join you on your high seas adventure, Wendy! Have a wonderful trip!
Anna
