Welcome to planDisney and we're happy to see you here with your question! I'm excited to see that you're thinking about joining us as a Magic Key holder! I've been a member since the program's inception and it's a wonderful thing to be able to visit the magic of the Disneyland Resort multiple times throughout the year.
I'm happy to say that yes, you may indeed
upgrade an existing ticket to a Magic Key Pass, subject to availability. At the time of this writing, the only
Magic Key type that is currently available is the Inspire Pass. In order to upgrade, open the
Disneyland Mobile App and locate the "Tickets and Passes" screen. Find the ticket that you would like to upgrade and press the "Upgrade to a Magic Key Pass" button. You will need to pay the difference in price between your ticket and the Magic Key.
Once you upgrade, all
reservations that were associated with the old ticket will be cancelled, so you will have to book them again. If your visit is coming up soon, check the
Availability Calendar to make sure your dates are still open. You have until midnight on the last valid day of your ticket to upgrade, but given the unpredictability of Magic Key Pass inventory, you might want to act fast if you want to upgrade. However, the
Disney Parks Blog did state that Magic Key Passes would be available from time to time during 2023, so if you're set on a Believe or Enchant Key then keep an eye on the official
Magic Key Instagram page for the latest news and updates!
If you do join us as a Magic Key holder, be sure to try out the
Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure. I've been telling everyone that the best churros on property are the House-made Churros there! And some of my favorite souvenirs have been special purchases only for Magic Key holders! In fact, they've just announced some Magic Key Reusable Utensils on sale at select locations.
