Ahoy there, Billy! Welcome, and thank you so very much for sailing by with your question.
Disney Cruise Line has a pretty great
variety of staterooms and concierge-level suites that can accommodate up to 7 guests. It gives you a lot of options to consider when booking a stateroom for your family and friends.
Here's where the waters get just a little bit choppy, Billy. As long as the
ship you are sailing on hasn't reached capacity, you should be able to add a guest down the road. The ship can be full without each stateroom being full to the maximum capacity, so that's something to consider, especially if you are traveling during the holidays or a particularly busy season.
Depending on the type of stateroom you have, you may be able to add them to your stateroom, then
cancel without penalty if you do so far enough out. This may be a viable option if you're just waiting to make sure someone can come with you and you still have plenty of time to cancel them if they can't make it. You can also revisit the
Find a Cruise section of the website to see if the ship is still booking staterooms as you get closer to your sail date. That will let you know if the ship has sold out.
I hope it all works out well and you can have your guest join you, Billy!
