Hi Laurie!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question about Disney Gift Cards!
Disney Gift Cards offer a flexible and convenient way to pay for almost everything during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, making them a great budgeting tool for your vacation. Disney Gift Cards are accepted at all Disney-owned-and-operated locations where credit cards are commonly accepted. You'll be able to use them at all four theme parks (
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park),
Disney Springs,
Water Parks, and
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. My favorite tip - you can also use Disney Gift Cards for
mobile food and beverage orders at select locations throughout the parks via the My Disney Experience Mobile App.
Charging purchases to your room at Walt Disney World is a feature available to guests staying at Disney Resort hotels. This system allows you to make purchases throughout the resort without needing to carry cash or cards. Here’s how you can set up and use this feature:
Upon check-in at your Disney Resort hotel, you'll have the option to link a credit card to your hotel account. This credit card will be used to cover all charges made to your room during your stay. At this time, only credit cards can be used to access this feature.
When you link a credit card to your room account, you can use your
MagicBand or MagicMobile service on your smartphone to charge purchases directly to your room. MagicBands are waterproof wristbands that serve as your room key, park ticket, and payment method, while the MagicMobile service is a digital pass that can be added to your smart device's wallet app. For security purposes, you'll be asked to set up a Personal Identification Number (PIN) when you link a credit card to your room account. This PIN must be entered whenever you make a purchase using your MagicBand or MagicMobile pass to validate the transaction.
You can track your room charges by reviewing the folio on your My Disney Experience account in the mobile app, or request a printout of your charges from the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel. At the end of your stay, all charges made to your room will be automatically charged to the credit card you linked to your room account.
Here's where those gift cards come into play! If you'd like to use your gift cards to pay off your room charges, simply stop by the front desk the night before you check out and have them applied to pay the balance. If you have multiple Disney Gift Cards, you can combine their balances onto one card at
DisneyGiftCard.com. This can make it easier to manage and track your spending. It's helpful to keep a record of your Disney Gift Card numbers and balances in case a card is lost or stolen.
I hope this helps with your planning, preparing, and budgeting for your upcoming vacation!
