Welcome to planDisney, Anissa! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. I’m a big fan of using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass at the Disneyland Resort. It’s one of the best ways to maximize your time in the parks and spend more of your day enjoying attractions instead of waiting in line.
If you’d like to add Lightning Lane Multi Pass to an existing theme park reservation, just know that this option becomes available once you’ve scanned into the park for the day. After you’ve entered either
Disneyland or
Disney California Adventure, open the
Disneyland app and look for the banner labeled “Lightning Lane Multi Pass.” There you’ll see a button that allows you to purchase the add-on for that specific day. Just a quick heads-up: pricing can fluctuate depending on the date and crowd levels, so it’s a good idea to check the app for the latest information.
Now for a Q-Tip! To make the most of your Lightning Lane selections, try to book the most in-demand attractions as early as possible in the day. These include headliners like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, and the newly reimagined Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. These reservations can fill up quickly (especially on busier park days), so reserving early helps you avoid longer standby waits. Plus, arriving at the parks earlier in the day often means shorter overall lines, so it’s a win-win!
Another Lightning Lane strategy I love? You can hold more than one Lightning Lane reservation at a time. After you make a selection, you can’t make another until one of two things happens: you either scan into your current reservation or two hours have passed since booking it. So, if you grab a 4:00 p.m. return time for the Matterhorn at 9:00 a.m., you can still make another reservation at 11:00 a.m. without canceling the first. I like to set alarms on my phone as a reminder so I don’t miss a chance to grab my next favorite attraction.
Have a fantastic time, Anissa! You’re already on track for a day filled with thrills, magic, and pixie-dusted planning.
Happy adventuring,
David
