Aloha Chris, and welcome to planDisney! Aulani is one of my family’s favorite places, and we just love the combination of Hawaiian culture and Disney magic! So I’d be more than happy to help get you all set up for your upcoming visit.
The
Aulani Resort Mobile App works a little differently than the
My Disney Experience app used at Disney World. But it does share the same
Family & Friends List that you might already have set up from past Disney World trips.
When you link your hotel reservation on the Aulani website or app, it’ll prompt you to match the guest names to people on the Family & Friends List from your MyDisney account (on the Disney World website). To link your reservation on the Aulani website, hover over My Aulani towards the top right corner and click on
My Aulani Dashboard. On the next page, you’ll see a button to Link Your Reservation. To do this on the app, press the Retrieve Reservation button on the home page. Once that’s done, anyone matched from your Family & Friends list should see the reservation when they log into the Aulani app.
In my experience, other types of reservations, like those for
dining and the
spa, are only associated with the person who booked them (and they typically only show up on your My Plans list if booked through the app). However, there is another way to make sure everyone in your party is aware of your plans! Once your hotel reservation is linked, go to the My Next Plan section of the homepage and press the Add Plan button. On the next screen, scroll down to Custom Plan and select that tile. Here you can choose an image that’s related to your activity, and add a title, date, time, and description. At the bottom, select the people you’d like to share the plan with (family and friends linked to your hotel reservation should appear here). Then when they open the app, they’ll see this activity on their My Plans list.
The Aulani app is great for easily referencing the map, mobile ordering food, and checking the activity schedule throughout your stay! I also like to look at the schedule before my trip to see what might be happening while we’re there. Just keep in mind that
character meet and greets aren’t added to the schedule until the morning of each day (usually between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.). I love meeting the characters that aren’t as easy to find in the U.S. theme parks, like Duffy, ‘Olu Mel, and Angel!
I’m wishing you the most magical stay at Aulani! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome here at planDisney.
