Ahoy there, Maria,
Welcome aboard planDisney! I’m so glad to see that you are making plans for your
Disney Cruise Line vacation. You are going to love sailing away with Mickey, Minnie, and all their seafaring pals!
Disney Cruise Line does not offer drink packages. Instead, they offer several alternatives that are, in my experience, a much better value and a lot more fun!
First,
each Guest 21 years and older is permitted to bring up to two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750ml) or six beers (no larger than 12oz) onboard in carry-on luggage at the beginning of the voyage and at each port-of-call. One piece of advice, when you board the ship on departure day, you will need to carry these items with you until your stateroom is ready, which could be a few hours so plan accordingly.
If you enjoy a good pint, try the Refillable Beer Mug offering. For the cost of a 16-ounce beer, you receive a 21-ounce glass mug you can refill it for the cost of a 16-ounce beer at any bar on the ship that serves draft beer. Don’t worry, you won’t have to carry the mug with you all over the ship. You can exchange it for a beer mug token which you present the next time you are ready for a refill. But here is the great part, you will receive a mug as a souvenir! This package is available for purchase before the cruise through the
Onboard Gifts under the
Already Booked tab on the website. If you prefer, you can purchase it once on board.
You can also purchase Wine Packages, which are also an amazing value. You have the option of selecting the number of bottles you would like for the length of your cruise. You can have a bottle (or all your bottles, which you can then take back to your stateroom) delivered to your
Rotational Dining venue each night. Again, navigate to
Onboard Gifts to select this option prior to your cruise or once you board, check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for locations where to purchase a package.
I’ve saved the best for last, Maria! My favorite Disney Cruise Line offerings are
Beverage Tastings. These events are hosted by the amazing mixologists in the lounges around the ships. I have been surprised to learn about the complexities of bourbon, tequila, wine and martinis aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship! I recommend that you book these in advance
once your booking window opens since they are very popular.
Maria, I hope this information helps you dream up your Disney Cruise Line vacation. Sail by any time if you have other questions!
Cheers to magical memories,
Shannon
