How do I add a dinning package to my hotel stay? I have made reservations at restaurants but I am unsure how that connects to a dining plan?

Welcome to the planDisney table, Jessica! We're here to serve up all the answers to make your upcoming Disney vacation even more magical, and in some cases, delicious! Since your visit is just a few days away, let's dig into the details of the Disney dining plans so you'll be ready to savor the magic of mealtime!

Jessica, if you have booked a Disney vacation package, you should have the option to add a dining plan to your existing reservation at any time up to the day before your check-in. I recommend first accessing your reservation details on your My Disney Experience account; click My Plans and scroll down to find your upcoming reservation. If you are able to make changes online, you will see a Change Reservation button which will allow you to make an assortment of changes, including adding a dining plan. If you do not see this option, I'd recommend calling a helpful Cast Member to discuss your options.

Remember that there are two Disney dining plans to choose from; the first is the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, which gives each guest in your party one snack and two quick-service meals per night of your visit along with a resort-refillable mug. The second option is the standard Disney Dining Plan which features one snack, one quick-service meal, and one table-service meal per night of your visit as well as the resort-refillable mug. Since you mentioned already having some advance dining reservations made, you would probably be better served with the Disney Dining Plan to cover those sit-down meals. When you dine at any restaurant using a dining plan, you can let the Cast Members know you are using a dining plan and then you will be asked to tap your MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World card to use your dining allotments. To keep track of what meals and snacks you have remaining, you can find that information at the bottom of any dining receipt and in your My Disney Experience mobile app! It's a piece of cake to track your meals and snacks this way!

Jessica, I hope this helps! If you decide to add a dining plan, remember to look for the purple and white dining plan symbol at snack carts, quick-service restaurants, and any dining location to see what snack options are available! You're sure to find some delicious treats throughout your vacation!
