Hi Olivia, and welcome to planDisney! I stay in the
Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Studios a lot and would be happy to help with your question. It’s nice to have the extra space and kitchenette over a regular hotel room!
Now let’s talk about adding another adult to your reservation. If the Deluxe Studio you booked sleeps five, you can add up to five guests to the reservation plus one child under the age of three. In your case, it sounds like you’re already at the maximum room occupancy and won’t be able to add another adult. While there may be enough sleep space for an extra person, Disney limits the number of people who can stay in a room for safety reasons.
However, there are two options for rooms that sleep six which are some of my favorite places to stay! If you’d like to keep your reservation at a
Deluxe Villa, a 2-Bedroom Villa would give your crew plenty of room to spread out since the room occupancy is eight to nine people, depending on the resort. And you might even be able to stay at the same resort that you have currently booked. When I’m traveling with kiddos, having the in-room washer and dryer in the 2 Bedroom Villas has always been a lifesaver!
If you don’t need such a large room, the Family Suites at
All-Star Music Resort and
Art of Animation Resort might be a nice fit since those rooms sleep six people. With two bathrooms, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a living room with a double-sized Murphy bed and double-sized sofa bed, and a kitchenette, these suites will give you a little more space for everyone. I stayed in one last year and having two bathrooms is amazing when everyone is getting ready in the morning! Art of Animation is also such a fun resort. The Family Suites are themed to Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and Cars. And the mini Route 66 outside will transport you right into the middle of the movie and makes for great family pictures. Just keep in mind that the
Skyliner is currently scheduled to be closed for refurbishment during your trip, but complimentary bus transportation will be available between Art of Animation and the theme parks.
When you’re at Disney World in January, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will most likely be happening. It’s such a unique and creative event, which is included in your park admission. So keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for more details later this year. I love walking around the park trying all of the small plates from the Food Studio kiosks and browsing the booths with artwork for sale. Sometimes you can even meet the artists and have them sign your purchases, which is really cool!
I hope you find the practically perfect room for your whole party. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit again at planDisney!
