What activities are specifically geared toward young adults (my 18 year old son) on the Disney Dream? He loves sports and would like to hang out with other young adults. Are young adults targeted on a cruise and gathered as a group?

    Ahoy Kris!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  The Cruise Staff on the Disney Dream does an amazing job of reaching Guests of all age groups!  Since your son loves sports, I'd definitely recommend him checking out the activities and events planned for Goofy's Sports Deck.  Here he will find a full size basketball court, the sports simulators (for a nominal fee), mini golf, foosball and ping pong.  When I've been by the basketball court, I've seen pick-up games of basketball, soccer, volleyball as well as scheduled events.  I recommend him reading the daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator so he doesn't miss out on any fun up on the sports deck.
Another suggestion is for him to check out the Club 18*21 activities that will be planned throughout your cruise.  These are the events the Cruise Staff plans for the college age kids who want to mingle with others their age.  They will also be listed in the Personal Navigator which will be delivered each evening for the next day.
I hope my suggestions will help, Kris!  If I can assist you further, please write back!
    Have a magical day!
