Ahoy, Richard!
Are you ready for an amazing day on
Disney Castaway Cay? This island has something for every age group including Serenity Bay for 18 and over, the Teen Hideout for tweens and teens, the Castaway Family Beach for the entire crew and Scuttle's Cove for Guests 3-12! Your daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator and the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will be chock-full of all the fun you can have ashore when the ships pulls up right alongside the pier.
My sailors have loved experiencing the programming offered in Scuttle's Cove over the yEARs. When they were younger, we always had to carve out at least a couple of hours for them to visit, which allowed my husband and me time to head over to Serenity Bay to relax on the beach. Some of the fun activities they've experienced are Sand Castle Fun, Disney Beach Party, Sand Soccer, Water Games, Capture the Flag and Scavenger Hunts. My son's absolute favorite activity was the Dig at Monstro's Point, which is located adjacent to the Scuttle's Cove. He would never miss out on discovering whale's teeth at the excavation site! Like the Oceaneer Club and Lab, the planned programming is always optional. There are sand toys for free play along with balls and soccer goals. Beach attire is appropriate, as I would send my daughter in her cover-up and bathing suit and my son in his bathing suit and a t-shirt with plenty of sunscreen. Hours usually run from around 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. depending on your ship's departure and arrival time on the island. Lunch is served at Pop's Props for those sailors checked in around noon. Again, you can plan ahead by checking your cruise newsletter the night before your arrival in paradise!
Richard, enjoy counting down the days until your voyage with Captain Mickey. If you have any other questions, please let us know!
