Are there activities for a child under age 2 at any of the parks? How many? Trying to decide if it's worth visiting now or waiting until he's older. We both love Disney and are excited to introduce our son to all things Disney.

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! There is a lot for children under the age of 2 to experience at Walt Disney World Resort, including the attractions. My wife and I have taken our children to Walt Disney World as infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. They have enjoyed the parks at various stages of their lives. In fact, our daughter first visited when she was only 5-months-old, and we took her on several of the slow rides. Each of the four parks offers slow rides for guests of all ages to enjoy.

My favorite park to visit with little ones is Magic Kingdom. During our family’s most recent visit to the Magic Kingdom, we spent most of our time in Fantasyland and the recently expanded New Fantasyland. New Fantasyland's Storybook Circus area is home to Dumbo The Flying Elephant, which offers an air-conditioned circus-themed play area to keep children entertained before you take flight. Your son can also play at Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station in Storybook Circus. This is a great place to cool off on a warm day. There are similar play areas around the other parks, such as The Boneyard at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The wonderful folks at Disney have made planning a Walt Disney World vacation with small children even easier. Now DisneyWorld.com has a special area intended for families Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones. On this page you can discover tips and special offers designed for families like yours. There is even a Preschool Parent's Guide to Walt Disney World Resort that you can download.

Please send me any follow-up questions that you may have about planning your visit to Walt Disney World. I enjoy helping families plan their magical vacations with little ones.

    Have a magical day!
