My active-duty military husband and I are considered Florida residents - we have FL driver's licenses but with Virginia addresses. Our home of record is Florida, but we do not maintain a physical address in FL. Can we get FL resident tickets?

    Hi Kristen, welcome to planDisney!

First and foremost, I thank your husband for his service to our country.  And I know it's not always easy for you, so I thank you as well.

Unfortunately, your Florida driver's license will not work as proof of Florida residency because it does not have a Florida address.  By chance, does your husband have a valid Florida-based military ID?  If so, that will work as proof of Florida residency.  If not, there are multiple ways other than having a valid Florida driver's license, a Florida state-issued ID card, or a Florida-based military ID to meet the proof of Florida residency requirements for Walt Disney World.

If you can provide one of the following, dated within the past two months, with evidence of your Florida home address (post office boxes are not accepted) you should be good to go!

    • A current mortgage statement.
    • A current homeowner's insurance policy or bill.
    • A current automobile registration, insurance policy, or bill.
    • A current utility bill (e.g., power, phone, cable, water).
    • Mail from a financial institution (e.g., checking, savings, or investment account).
    • Mail from federal, state, county, or city government agencies.
In addition to providing one of the above documents to Guest Relations, you will also need to provide a picture ID (e.g., passport, driver's license, or state identification card). Please note, that current statements and bills printed from electronic versions are acceptable, along with electronic bills provided on your smartphone or tablet device.

Kristen, if you are able to prove residency based on the above information, you can then monitor the special offers that are available to Florida residents for savings opportunities.  Otherwise, there are special offers that are posted from time that typically have discounts available to our military.  I don't see anything posted for your arrival date yet, but I'm sure that will be updated as we get closer to year-end.

I hope you find this information helpful.  Please let us know if you have further questions as you continue to plan your magical vacation!
    Diane
