    If we activate an annual pass on August 23, 2018 then does it expire on August 23, 2019? How does the 30 days passed expiration for renewal work and does it have to be renewed in person?

    Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about planning ahead to purchase your Annual Pass for the Walt Disney World Resort!

    I am also an Annual Passholder, and I love all of the benefits and perks that come along with it! You are correct that it expires exactly one year from the day of activation. When it expires, you will receive paperwork in the mail to prompt you to renew it. You do not have to renew it in person, but you will need to get a new hard Annual Passholder card the next time you are in the parks after your card expires. That can be done in person at any Guest Services location. Even if you don't yet have the new card itself, your renewed Annual Pass will still be active and can be used.
