I have my (and SO) account on my Disney app. I have linked our tickets and lightening land passes. We are going to purchase Magicbands+. Can I activate both Magicbands+ only through my account? Or does he need to get his own account and then link?

    Hi Barbara! Welcome to planDisney!

As the designated planner in my family, I totally get how helpful it is to manage both theme park tickets and Lightning Lane reservations in the Disneyland app. I’m happy to help you get those technical details sorted out for your upcoming visit!

One of the best features of MagicBand+ is that it lets you manage your entire party’s park tickets, Lightning Lane access, and MagicBands using just the Disneyland app, right from one phone. To link your bands, open the app and tap the ☰ menu icon. Scroll down to the “Account” section and select MagicBand+. Then, tap the blue plus sign in the top corner to begin linking your first band. You’ll be prompted to assign it to a ticket. Choose the ticket you want, and just like that, your MagicBand+ will be ready to go! Repeat the process for the second MagicBand+ and ticket, and you’ll be all set for a smooth and connected park day.

From that point forward, Barbara, you’ll be able to manage both your and your significant other’s park tickets and Lightning Lane Multi Pass access from a single device. As a dad, I really appreciate this feature! On a recent visit with my teenage daughters, they opted for some solo park time, and I was still able to manage their Lightning Lane access while they explored the parks on their own. I just made the selections from my phone, and they focused on the fun.

Since your trip overlaps with Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, I wanted to share one more spooky detail: Haunted Mansion Holiday returns beginning August 22! Jack Skellington and his Halloween Town crew bring eerie charm and festive flair to this classic attraction. It’s a can’t-miss experience for fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas. You’ll also find oversized pumpkins grinning along Main Street, and lots of spine-tingling seasonal snacks! (Be sure to try one of the churro cart’s limited-time flavors!).

I hope this helps you feel even more ready for your visit, Barbara. If you have any other questions as your trip approaches, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or another planDisney panelist again.

Enjoy every moment of the magic,
    David
