Hello Josephine!
Thank you for bringing your question to us. I'm happy to review the latest information as you prepare for your visit.
As you know, changes to the
Disability Access Service (DAS) will go into effect on May 20, 2024. I've seen a lot of worry and speculation online about these changes, but rest assured
Walt Disney World Resort is still committed to providing an inclusive environment for guests.
Once eligibility is determined DAS will be valid for 30 days for visits through May 19, 2024. Beginning May 20th, DAS will be valid for 120 days for eligible guests. Since your visit begins the day after these changes are implemented, I'm not certain whether you'll be able to complete the pre-registration process via video chat, as it currently exists. You can attempt pre-registration through
this Request Live Video Chat link as your travel dates approach, but you may be directed to wait until the changes go into effect on May 20th.
If Cast Members advise you to wait, you'll still be able to pre-register with a member of the Disability Services team via virtual chat using your
My Disney Experience Mobile App the day before your arrival. These specially trained Cast Members will review your needs and determine the appropriate accommodations, which are handled on a case-by-case basis. If your request is not approved, alternate accommodations will be discussed.
I'm sorry I can't offer more specific guidance but I'm hopeful you'll be able to enjoy a comfortable and magical vacation when you arrive next month. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us again with any additional questions or concerns. We're all eager to learn more during this transition period and will be happy to share what we discover.
Magic and memories,
Amy
