Hi Jonathan! Welcome to planDisney. Little details like ticket names can suddenly feel big when you’re counting down to a
Disneyland Resort visit, so let’s walk through it together.
In most situations, having the same name listed on multiple
tickets is not a problem. When tickets are purchased, a name is attached during checkout, but that name is not what permanently assigns the ticket to a specific Guest. The ticket officially becomes linked to the individual using it the first time it is scanned at the entrance to
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park. At that moment, a Cast Member will take a quick photo of the Guest entering with that ticket. That photo (not the printed name) is what connects the ticket to that person for the length of its use. Because of this system, tickets generally work just fine even if the name listed doesn’t match the Guest who ultimately uses it.
If you’d still feel more comfortable having the names updated before arrival, you can reach out to Disneyland Ticket Services for assistance. You can call the
Tickets phone line or use the chat feature within the
Disneyland app to connect with a Cast Member. They’ll review your order and let you know help with any adjustments in advance of your visit.
Speaking of the Disneyland app, if you haven’t downloaded it yet, I highly recommend doing so before your trip. It’s where you can store and scan your tickets, check attraction wait times, view entertainment schedules, place mobile food and beverage orders, and manage Lightning Lane selections if you choose to purchase them. Having everything organized in one place makes the day feel much smoother.
Jonathan, I hope this brings you some peace of mind so you can shift your focus back to the exciting parts of planning. Before you know it, you’ll be walking into Disneyland and the only thing on your mind will be which attraction to experience first.
Wishing you a smooth and magical visit ahead,
David
