Hi David, and welcome to planDisney. Only one more sleep until you get to the Most Magical Place on Earth! So let’s chat about a quintessential Disney experience—the
monorail.
Pulling into Magic Kingdom on the monorail is one of my earliest memories as a kid! My family often takes a ride on our first day at Disney World, even if we’re not going into the theme parks. All guests can access the monorail, regardless of whether you’re staying at a Disney resort hotel or have a theme park ticket.
From the
Polynesian, you can take the Resort Monorail to
Magic Kingdom, the
Grand Floridian Resort, the
Contemporary Resort, or the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). The TTC is where you can transfer to the EPCOT monorail. I love visiting the other resort hotels since they each have their own unique theme, eateries, and gift shops. Last year, my fellow planDisney panelists and I did a monorail bar crawl and enjoyed a drink at a different lounge at each resort hotel! And if you purchase a Disney Rapid Fill Refillable Mug, be sure to bring it with you since it can be used at any of the Disney resort hotel quick service restaurants.
The monorail to
EPCOT is such a fun ride because it goes right through the park before stopping at the monorail station. And there’s even a spot where you can take a picture with
Spaceship Earth peeking out above the EPCOT entrance gates, without needing to go into the park.
I hope you have the most magical stay at the Polynesian this week! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
