Audrey,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
If you are staying at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, you are just a short walk away from the magic of the
Magic Kingdom! There is a walking path from the hotel to the front of the Magic Kingdom, and after a short stroll of a little less than 1/2 a mile (0.7 km), you are there! You just enter the park, and your breakfast with the princesses at
Cinderella's Royal Table is straight ahead!
Obviously, you will need a theme park ticket to enter, but know that if you arrive before posted park hours, you can just go to the turnstile where an attendant for that restaurant can confirm your reservation and check you in.
As to your second question, no, guests of one resort are not allowed to use the pools at other resorts. In this case, Bay Lake Tower and
Disney's Contemporary Resort are not considered to be two parts of the same resort. I found this out in reverse this spring when our pool at the Contemporary was under refurbishment, but we were unable to use the Bay Lake Tower pool. They do this so that no one pool gets overcrowded.
BONUS TIPIf your dining reservation has you entering the Magic Kingdom before the park opening, consider planning to get a good family picture in front of the castle. Capturing a family photo without the crowds in the background can create a cherished family keepsake!
