Hi. Are we able to wander around Epcot after the Illuminations show to wait for the crowds to thin out (we will be using the resort buses) or must we exit directly after the show ends? Thanks.

After the Illuminations show ends (assuming the show is at 9:00 and the park closes at 9:00, as is typically the case) the park will be well on it's way to shutting down. The rides will be closed. All but a few shops will be closed. And the restaurants will be finishing up with their last customers.

Bus transportation will run for at least an hour after the park closes, and no one will be immediately chasing you out of the park, but there will really be nothing to do that will keep you there. You can make your way to the exit in a leisurely fashion, but that's the direction you should be going in. As the evening gets later, security staff will go through the park to make sure that all guests have exited safely.
