Season's Greetings, Jacob, and welcome to planDisney! I love to visit Disney World at Christmastime, when the theme parks and resort hotels are covered in sparkling decorations. So, let’s chat about where you might be able to find those special holiday treats this year!
As you know, the
Grand Floridian’s lobby is undergoing an exciting renovation, so the famous gingerbread house won’t be making an appearance this year. But there will be other holiday touches around the resort. Disney hasn’t announced any details yet, but I’m hoping that there might still be somewhere to buy our favorite seasonal treats.
If not, there’s usually a kiosk selling holiday cookies, drinks, and other goodies at many of the other resort hotels with gingerbread displays. They each have different offerings, but last year I remember seeing a gingerbread shingle at the
BoardWalk Inn that was similar to the one I’ve had at the
Grand Floridian! The treats can change from year to year, but it's worth checking out if you’re craving a familiar holiday snack. One of my family's must-dos when we visit in December is to do a holiday resort crawl and check out all of the different themed decorations!
Some of my favorite holiday displays are the gingerbread giraffe and zebra at
Animal Kingdom Lodge and the rotating gingerbread carousel at
Beach Club Resort. And there’s usually a display at the
Contemporary Resort, too (last year it was a gingerbread Cinderella Castle!). Keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog as they announce more details on this year’s holiday offerings in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can check out their
initial overview from a few months ago.
I’m wishing you the best visit ever during the most magical time of the year! And if you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
