Am I able to request for a microwave in my standard room?

Welcome to planDisney, Menache! Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is fast approaching, so I'm glad you brought your question to us. Let's make your stay a great, big, beautiful one!

I remember when my dad surprised my mom with our family's very first microwave; it was ginormous! But regardless of their size, these little beauties are hard to live without.

So I spoke to an electrifying Cast Member who suggested asking for a microwave at the Front Desk when you check in for your stay. Most resorts have a limited number of these for guests to use, so it's typically first-come, first-served. I'm wishing on a microwave-safe Mickey mug that you can secure one.

I'd also recommend calling the Tickets and Hotel Reservation line before you arrive so they can make a note in your reservation. It couldn't hurt!

Finally, I'm happy to let you know there's a plan B. Most resorts have microwaves available for guests to use in their quick-service restaurants and food courts. My dad, the microwave pro, loved to bring bags of microwave popcorn on our Disney vacations. He'd head to the food court with his Disney Rapid Fill Refillable Mug and a bag of popcorn. The best part about this option is that when he over-nuked it, our room didn't smell like burnt popcorn all night!

Menache, travel safely and have a magical time on your visit. Feel free to "pop" back by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
