i want to be able to see one of the outdoor movies at our resort (Bay Lake) but we also plan our special dinners way in advance. How far in advance do the resorts put out their movie schedule and is it possible to access that info. prior to arriving?

    Hi Judy,

That is such a great question about an activity that our family really enjoys! While of course we love conquering the Mountain Range in Magic Kingdom Park, thanking the Phoenicians for the alphabet in Epcot, throwing a casual wave at the king of the jungle at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park or zooming through the streets of Hollywood in a stretch limousine in Disney's Hollywood Studios, there is nothing like a favorite movie in our favorite place with my favorite people!

For Guests staying at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, you can catch the nightly Movies Under the Stars offering just slightly lake-side of the Skyway Bridge. I love this location.  You can still hear the horns of the Motor Launches out on Bay Lake, the laughter of the families swimming in The Main Pool and sometimes the whir of the monorail overhead. Just be sure to bring a blanket down with you just in case all of the chairs are full when you arrive.

Schedules including showtimes and titles are posted on websites such as KennyThePirate.com at the beginning of each month, though I know that doesn't help you plan for your Advance Dining Reservations. What I hope is useful, is that generally the movie time coincides roughly with sunset. I have seen them starting around 7 p.m. during the winter months and as late as 9 p.m. during the summer.

I hope you enjoy the show, Judy! Come back and visit us with any other questions you might have.

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
