Are you able to get meal plans for half the trip? We will be in the park for 5 days. Would love to budget a meal plan for 2-3 of those.

    Hi Destiny!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to pre-pay for your meals and snacks at the Walt Disney World Resort. When we have used it, I have enjoyed knowing that everything was paid for in advance and I wouldn’t have to worry about a surprise bill at the end of the trip. There are so many delicious ways to use your Disney Dining Plan credits, and for us, half of the fun is planning out our meals and snacks!

The Disney Dining Plan is available to be added to vacation packages that include a Walt Disney World Resort stay and theme park tickets. It must be booked for all the nights of your reservation, and all of the Guests staying on the reservation. Because of this, you would not be able to book the Disney Dining Plan for only part of your reservation. It’s also important to note that the Disney Dining Plan is allocated on the number of nights you stay, rather than the number of days. So if you will be doing 5 days in the parks, but only a 4-night stay, your Disney Dining Plan would be based on the 4 nights. Disney Dining Plan credits are valid from the day of check-in, usually around 7 am, until midnight on the day of check-out. So that can help spread your meals out a bit!

The only way to book fewer nights on the Disney Dining Plan is to book yourself with separate reservations, the first one with park tickets and the Disney Dining Plan and a second reservation without. I don’t generally recommend this option, especially for less experienced visitors, as it can get complicated and there is a risk you could have to move rooms, but it is possible.

If you’d like to add the Disney Dining Plan to your visit, you can call Walt Disney World Reservations, or contact your travel agent. And if you have any additional questions as you plan your visit, please come back and visit us!

    Have a Magical Day!
