how are you able to know when the characters are coming out and where they are?

Hi Mia! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Have you downloaded the Disneyland mobile app yet? It's a handy tool for your park day, which you can use to scan into the parks, Lightning Lane Entrances, check wait times, mobile order food and beverages, and more. Most importantly, you can locate Characters! I can walk you through how to do this.

Pull up the map on the app and change the selection at the top from "Attractions" to "Characters." This will bring up a series of Mickey Mouse icons you can tap to see which Character can be found in this area, either at a Meet & Greet location or roaming. It will also give you their schedule. The times and appearances can change, but this information can help you look for your must-see Characters.

My favorite interactions are with roaming Characters. Bumping into them in the parks feels extra special somehow. Have tea with the Mad Hatter one minute and chat about nature with Pocohantas the next! It's magical. We had fun with Pinocchio on our last trip while in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park. He was peeking into a popcorn cart like he could really go for a snack just like my real boys. We snapped a picture with him. It was one of the highlights of the trip.

I suggest you download the app and play around to find all the great features ahead of your visit. This will make for a smoother day, so you can focus more on the magic and less on searching for functions on your mobile device.

    I hope this helps!
