Will I be able to find a princess dress for my 3 year old at Disney for $50 or less?

I'm sorry to tell you that this is probably not possible. I was at WDW last month and took lots of notes about the pricing of the princess dresses. Bear in mind that prices can change, but during my trip, the pricing for all the dresses was uniform at about $65 each, plus tax. It didn't matter which princess or which size dress - that was the price. Other parts of the princess costumes such as wands, shoes, wraps, wigs, and tiaras are available for an additional fee -- usually about $10 to $20 each. If you want to fully outfit a little girl a complete princess ensemble, it's going to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $100.

I certainly understand that this can be quite a shock to many budgets. You are welcome to bring costumes or parts of costumes from home. Many girls wear costumes in the parks that were not purchased at the parks. For example, you could buy a dress at a discount store like Walmart or Target or from a costume vendor like buycostumes.com and have your daughter wear this in the parks.

If you do decide to bring a less expensive dress from home, perhaps you can freshen it up with some accessories you buy at the park.

Good luck with your planning and have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World!
