Am I able to add additional nights to my existing hotel booking (this was via a 3rd party) and stay in the same room?

Hi Gemma, and welcome to planDisney. Spending a few extra nights at Disney World sounds absolutely magical! I’d be happy to help figure out how to extend your reservation without needing to move your luggage.

The best way to ensure that you’ll be in the same room for your entire stay is to modify your existing reservation and change the check-out date. If that’s not possible, your best option would be to book a second reservation for the additional nights, making sure you choose the same room type or view. For instance, if your original reservation is for a Standard Room you’d want to make sure that the subsequent reservation is also for a Standard Room (and not a Preferred Room). After that’s done, call the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations phone number to add a note to both reservations requesting to stay in the same room. While it’s not guaranteed, Cast Members will try their best to grant your wish!

I’ve had to do this a couple of times and recommend visiting the front desk when you get to your resort hotel to have them check on your request. They’ll be able to confirm whether you can leave your luggage in the room between stays or if you’ll need to change rooms. If the latter, Bell Services can hold your luggage while you wait for your next room to be ready. My family usually plans to be in one of the theme parks on days we're switching rooms or resort hotels. That way, we drop off our luggage at Bell Services in the morning and by the time we’re back from the park our room is usually ready.

August is the practically perfect time to take advantage of this year’s newest perk for Disney Resort hotel guests—complimentary water park admission on check-in day! If you end up with two different hotel reservations, you’ll have two separate check-in days to enjoy one of the water parks--100% on the Mouse! Even sweeter, Disney Parks Blog recently announced that both Disney World water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon) will be open this summer for double the fun!

Safe travels and I’m wishing you a pixie-dusted vacation at Disney World in August! If you have any other questions, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
