About Me

I was born in Havana, Cuba. That said, I have made Little Rhody (a.k.a. "The Ocean State") my permanent home for nearly two decades now. I'm bilingual and completely fluent in Spanish. Before moving to the East Coast, my family lived in Chicago for many years prior, and I still consider “The Windy City” my hometown. I was able to pursue graduate studies at Northwestern University as the recipient of a National Science Foundation Award. After graduate school, my husband and I moved to Massachusetts and I worked as a high school mathematics teacher in Brookline and Lexington. I'm currently teaching at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island, but only part-time, to accommodate my children's very busy and demanding schedules. I love to travel, and my favorite hobbies are photography and scrapbooking. I thoroughly enjoy art museums, the performing arts, music, movies, reading and learning about other cultures. Those who know me best will describe me as highly enthusiastic about life in general, but extremely passionate about Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line most particularly. They will say my love for all things Disney is intoxicating and contagious! I like to spread pixie dust whenever possible as I truly enjoy sharing my Disney experience with everyone!

About My Family

My husband and I have been married for twenty-three years. We currently reside in Rhode Island with our two beautiful children. My husband will often wear his Disney ties to work. Our daughter is as passionate about Disney trip planning as I am! She particularly enjoys Avatar Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™, Space Mountain and Soarin' Around the World. Our son is simply obsessed with planning our next Disney cruise aboard the 4 magnificent Disney Cruise Line ships, and I must say that he's quite good at it! He's now eagerly awaiting the inaugural sailings of 3 new Disney Cruise Line ships scheduled for completion in 2021, 2022 and 2023! His favorite rides at Walt Disney World Resort are Avatar Flight of Passage, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Slinky Dog Dash, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and Toy Story Mania! He absolutely loves riding the Resort Monorail. It is a "must do" activity on every family trip. We always value our family-time, but we particularly treasure the priceless memories we've created and shared together while visiting Walt Disney World Resort and cruising with Captain Mickey and Disney Cruise Line. Together we collect Disney ornaments, and Disney Vinylmation figures. I'm an avid collector of Disney Parks exclusive Dooney & Bourke™ handbags, PANDORA® jewelry and Alex and Ani® bracelets. It is safe to say we are the quintessential Disney family.

About My Disney Experience

My husband and I honeymooned in the Caribbean and Walt Disney World Resort in 1995. Our youngest child was just an infant when our family first cruised with Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Magic on a 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral in 2006. One can never be too young to sail the high seas with Captain Mickey! We've also cruised on the Disney Wonder, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. I was honored to be part of the Disney Dream Inaugural Christening Cruise on January 19, 2011. We cannot wait for the next 3 Disney Cruise Line ships scheduled to sail in 2021, 2022 and 2023! We absolutely love Disney Character Dining at Walt Disney World Resort. Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park is our family's favorite! Friends and family members planning to visit Walt Disney World Resort, or to cruise with Captain Mickey and Disney Cruise Line, ask for my advice on how to maximize their enjoyment while staying within budget. I'm always happy to share the many ways in which they can make their vacation an affordable and magical experience. I particularly enjoy helping families with special needs and dietary restrictions plan their Disney vacations. My goal is to make each Disney trip uniquely magical and quite unforgettable!
