I'm Elizabeth, a professor of history, wife, and mother to two young Mickey Mouse enthusiasts. A childhood love of "The Sword in the Stone" fit right in with my fascination with castles, queens, and knights. Now, as a medieval historian, I share Merlin's dedication to knowledge and love of history with my students. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy baking not quite as speedily as Rapunzel, writing, and planning my family's next adventure. Researching a vacation is my favorite type of research, and I'm as dedicated to getting those details right as I am to my historical research.
About My Family
Born and raised across the Mississippi River from each other, my husband and I met in graduate school as history Ph.D. candidates. We love movies, cheering on our favorite sports teams, and traveling together. Since marrying in 2005, we've celebrated our anniversary with Mickey Mouse more than once! My husband runs my family's small business in the food industry, making us foodies with a long list of must-do dining and snacks on every Disneyland Resort trip. We're familiar with finding the best kids' meals thanks to our two creative little boys, who love dancing, art, baseball, and Disney. They scored their first visit buttons prior to being a year old. These days, they love to spin on Mad Tea Party and top that off with thrills on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but we've got to make time for a DOLE Whip and a visit with their favorite Characters too.
About My Disney Experience
I experienced Walt Disney World Resort as a once-in-a-lifetime family vacation when I was four years old. Years later, the wonder of "it's a small world" and the joy of a red Mickey Mouse balloon came rushing back when my husband and I walked down Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park with our extended family. It became our more than annual tradition, where we celebrate holidays, special occasions, and personal accomplishments. With two elementary school-age boys, I've collected tricks and hints for travel with babies, toddlers, and young kids. Our bonus travel companion is our teenage cousin, who loves Disney as much as my boys. Offer up a hug from Minnie Mouse and try to tell who is more excited! From the oldest member of our family to the youngest, Disneyland Resort is our favorite destination. There's something magical about helping others experience everything Disneyland Resort has to offer and sharing my love for this happy place.
