About Me

I’m a former elementary school teacher, turned stay at home mom of three busy boys, living in the Steel City of Pittsburgh, where everyone bleeds black and yellow!  My first trip to Walt Disney World as an adult was in 1999 when my husband and I honeymooned at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort.  Planning a trip sure was different back then- no MagicBands, Advanced Dining Reservations, or FastPass+ selections to make!  Since that trip, my husband and I have been hooked, and we both love planning Disney trips for ourselves, family members or friends.  Our motto is “Work hard, play harder,” and we take our vacations seriously, often planning over a year in advance.  Now that our children are getting older, having opportunities to connect with each other and create lasting memories is a priority.

About My Family

Even though I originally hail from Louisiana, my husband grew up on a Pennsylvania dairy farm, which explains why we like ice cream so much!  I like to joke that I married into a Disney family, since all our holiday dinner conversations with my in-laws include, “What Walt Disney World Resort we should stay in next?” or “What is the best restaurant in Epcot?” When I’m not shuttling my kids to piano, golf, or basketball practice, I love planning elaborate meals and researching recipes- and my boys love to eat.  My middle son keeps asking when I’m going to make the Wild Boar appetizer that we had at Jiko- the Cooking Place!

About My Disney Experience

My first trip to Walt Disney World was in 1980 with my parents and grandparents.  It’s hard to imagine a time before Epcot existed!  I still remember how excited my dad was to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and watch The Hall of Presidents show at Magic Kingdom Park, and those are two of my favorite attractions today.  My husband and I have vacationed at Walt Disney World Resort since our kids have been toddlers, and now they are tweens and teens, so they have grown up in the Disney Parks.  We became Disney Vacation Club Members several years ago, and our favorite thing to hear when we get off the Magical Express is, "Welcome Home!”  I look forward to 2019 when I get to travel back to The Most Magical Place on Earth a couple of times for Princess Half Marathon Weekend and my 20th wedding anniversary (I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll finally get to stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa)!
