Top 10 Packing Tips

National Plan for Vacation Day

  1. Not Sure What to Pack? Let Us Help!

    1. Comfortable Shoes – When visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, Robyn advises packing at least two pairs of shoes for each member of your party. She suggests a shoe, similar to a foam clog, in case you encounter a rainy day. Shoes like these can get wet without causing blisters. She adds they are also great for wearing to the pool.

    2. A Poncho – Florida showers can appear as quickly as the White Rabbit comes and goes, so Kristin reminds Guests to always pack a poncho. She highly recommends a lightweight poncho that zips and has sleeves, thus making rainy days much easier to handle!

    3. Resealable Bags – When packing for the whole family, Sarah likes to put each day's outfits into a resealable bag and label it with the day. This makes grabbing clothes in the morning super quick and easy. She adds to not forget to pack extras for the diaper bag or mid-day outfit change.

    4. Handheld Fan – When packing for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Tabitha tries to keep in mind what Florida weather can be like. Small, handheld fans can be a lifesaver in the Florida heat. The item doesn’t take up much room in a backpack but can make a huge difference when enjoying the theme parks!

    5. Pop-up Hamper – Bringing along a popup mesh clothes hamper helps Darcie and her family keep their resort room as tidy as can be!

    6. Portable Charger – Your mobile device will be used a great deal on your Disney vacation. Kristin can’t stress enough how important it is to pack at least one of these recharging devices.

    7. Packing Cubes – Packing cubes have changed Anne Marie’s life, and according to her they make packing and unpacking so quick and easy. She recommends packing by category (tops, PJs, etc.) or by outfits, or by family member -- whatever works for your family.

    8. Sunscreen – Sunscreen made the list of what to pack from almost every panelist, so be sure and pack that sun protection because no one wants to melt like Olaf on a warm, summer day!

    9. Sound Machine – Missy always makes sure to pack a sound machine as her kids are not used to sleeping in a room together. What a brilliant idea!

    10. An Extra Bag – When packing for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Stephanie says always make sure to leave space in your luggage or pack an extra bag for those Mickey ears, stuffed animals, and all the snacks!
