    1. My 75 yrs mom doesn't eat much. Can she order from the kids menu in table services restaurants (like Grand Floridian Café & 50's Prime Time)? 2. Is better to do the resort online check-in early morning same day or the night before?

    Hi Yinalys! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so excited for your family to experience the 50th Anniversary Celebration on your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort next month! And better yet, a multigenerational visit that includes your mom! I was lucky to bring my parents just before the closure in 2020 on their first ever trip to Walt Disney World. It's a vacation that I will remember for a lifetime. Seeing their faces as we walked down Main Street, U.S.A. and got a glimpse of Cinderella Castle was a special moment. I hope you are able to make some core memories with your family as well.

To get to your question about dining, it will depend on the restaurant you are eating at. If the dining location has set prices for adults and children, such as a pre-fixe menu or buffet-style dining, then your mom will be charged for the adult price at these meals. She should be able to choose items or order off the children's menu but you will be charged at the adult cost.

For table service restaurants that have a la carte menus, such as Grand Floridian Café and 50's Prime Time, it will be at the discretion of the restaurant if they allow her to order from the children's menu. Each location has its own policies in place, so I suggest checking with your server upon sitting down at your table. From my experience, Walt Disney World tries to be extremely accommodating to all Guests, so if it is possible they try to do their best to make it happen.

When using the online check-in process, it will not make any difference if you do so the night before or the morning of. Your request will be received and accommodated just the same. I have used both methods and it did not expedite the room being ready for either option. I would suggest performing the online check-in when you have time to do so. By checking in online, you are allowed to go straight to your resort room once it is ready. You'll receive a notification or text message letting you know when it is with the room number listed. You can enter using the My Disney Experience App on your mobile device or with your MagicBand

Yinalys, I hope you have a magical time during your upcoming visit!

    See ya real soon!
