Hi Moms, I have a 17yr-old daughter who will be coming with us in July to WDW. She is leaving us for college soon and I want to make this trip memorable. Believe it or not, she really wants to do the princess thing. What would you recommend for her age?

Hi, Kariann!  I just spent an incredible weekend with my daughter, who is away at college for her first year, so I know how important it is to make and capture some magical memories before your daughter heads off for school!

If she really wants to do the princess thing, I say do the princess thing!  Get her an appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique so she can have a whole princess makeover, and maybe do a dinner reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table or the Princess Storybook Dinner at Restaurant Akershus.  If this makes your little girl (and my 18 year old is still my little girl, no matter how grown up she thinks she is!) feel like a princess, then I say do it.

You will also find some awesome Princess gift items from the Disney World Florist that can be delivered to your room.  Check them out HERE .

I've also learned with girls this age that it's sometimes better to let them help in the planning.  That way, they get exactly the trip they want.  I did a Mom/Daughter trip with my oldest the winter before she graduated high school, and she picked out things that she still talks about that I might not ever have done - like tea at the Grand Floridian.  I would have thought she would have felt it too "old" for her, but she LOVED it!

I hope the memories that you make are truly magical, and that you hold tightly to them, so when she's off to college, you'll have them to make you smile!
