Hi there! Travelling with a 1yr old. We'll be staying onsite for transportation...but are torn between looking at a value or moderate room? Recommendations? How long does the transportation in park take to get back to the hotel re toddler meltdown?

    Hi Lindsay,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

If you have not done so already, download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. With the Mobile App, you can check estimated transit times from one location to another. When I checked the Mobile App for estimated transit times from Disney's Art of Animation Resort (one of my favorite Value Resort Hotels), the estimated transit time was about 52 minutes by bus. From Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter (moderate resort hotel), the estimated transit time to Magic Kingdom was 40 minutes by bus. From Disney's Pop Century Resort (another value resort hotel) to Magic Kingdom was 49 minutes.

To check directions, use the search feature in the Mobile App. Type in the name of your starting or ending point. A list of possibilities will appear. Select the one that is the best match. A menu option should appear that says "Get Directions." Then type in the second location. If there are multiple transportation options from a location, the Mobile App will display the estimated transit times from each location.

Since possible toddler meltdown is your concern, I suggest that you consider a deluxe or deluxe villa resort hotel closer to the theme parks. We prefer Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel because we can walk to Magic Kingdom from there and we can use the Resort Monorail. The walk is no more than 10 minutes. Other resort hotels with monorail access include Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. If you plan to visit Epcot, Disney's Beach Club Resort might be a nice option and it is within walking distance of Epcot.

Lindsay, I am sending pixie dust trusting that your toddler will have a great time!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
