4yr old son's first trip to WDW this year; 11yr old daughter's 2nd trip. Currently planning on 3 days in MK and 1 day at each of the other parks. This gives us no free day at all. Should we drop one of our MK days and replace it with a free day?

    Hi Keely,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you have an exciting trip planned.

I think you are very smart to consider adding a rest day to your vacation. However, if you don't want to take an entire day away from the parks, you could rework things a little bit to make the most of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Firstly, the difference in price between a 5-day or a 6-day theme park ticket is minimal. For this reason, I would probably keep the extra day and play it by ear.

One idea would be to use one of your Magic Kingdom park days to sleep in and enjoy a late breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and his pals at The Crystal Palace. There, you could enjoy a tasty meal and perhaps ride an attraction or two before heading back to your hotel for a swim.

You could also take short afternoon breaks on each of your other days in the parks to make sure you truly enjoy your time and don't become overtired. If you plan to enjoy the Disney Parks after dark, you may find that your whole family appreciates this rest time.

The Disney Resort hotels are unique and fun. In fact, we often wish we had taken more time to explore all they have to offer. However you decide to build in your breaks, I think you will be very glad you did!

Thank you for your question, Keely. Please come back and see us if we can help you in any other way.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
